What actually goes into one of my Strategic Wix Website Builds?

Hi, I’m Bry, founder of Hi This Is Bry. I’m a multi award winning Creative Strategist and Brand Consultant helping people build award worthy brands and make them visible. I write about branding, marketing, visibility and consumer behaviour, breaking down why recognisable brands succeed, why people buy and what you can apply to what you’re building.

After years of building client websites on Wix, I recently received a Wix Partner Creator badge, which was nice because I have been using the platform for a long time and it's useful to have that experience formally recognised. I am pleased to have the badge, but the way I approach websites has never really centred on becoming the person who knows every possible Wix setting, because I care much more about what the website does for the business once it exists.

When I build a website, I'm thinking about how somebody arrives on the site, what they need to understand, what might stop them enquiring, what makes the business worth trusting and how the design supports all of that. Wix is the platform I use to build the finished thing, while the thinking behind the website comes from my background across marketing, design, business development and sales.

That is also why I continue using Wix for small businesses, because I can build something completely custom while still handing the client a website they can actually manage afterwards. I don't particularly want someone to pay me for a site and then discover they need a developer every time they want to change a paragraph or upload a new image.

You can see all of my web design and marketing services, which include consultations, improvements to existing websites and completely custom Wix builds for businesses at different stages.

Why do I use Wix for small business websites?

I use Wix because I think small business owners should have proper control over their own websites, particularly when their businesses are still developing and their services are likely to change. If you add an offer, need to rewrite some copy or want to replace an image, I don't think you should automatically need to contact a developer and pay somebody before you can make a straightforward update.

Wix Classic Editor gives me enough freedom to build something completely custom while keeping the editing side accessible for the person who owns it. Wix also takes care of things such as security, SSL certificates and general platform maintenance, which removes a lot of technical management from the client once the site is live. That's particularly useful when somebody already has an entire business to run and doesn't want to spend their time managing website infrastructure.

None of that means Wix automatically creates a good website for you, because the platform cannot decide who your best customers are, why they should choose you or how your business should communicate its value. Those decisions still need somebody to think about the actual business and what its customers are likely to do when they reach the website.

That is where my work comes in, and it is also why I offer different levels of website support depending on what is already working and where the business is getting stuck.

What if you don't know what website support you actually need?

My Visibility Consultation is £60 for one hour, approximately $80, and is designed for business owners who want personalised advice before deciding what to invest in next.

Sometimes somebody thinks they need a new website, then once we start talking it becomes clear that the problem sits somewhere else. Their branding might not reflect the business anymore, their social media might be attracting attention without generating enquiries or the website might contain plenty of information without making it particularly easy for somebody to understand what is being sold.

During the consultation, we can look at the areas that may be limiting your visibility, including your branding, website, social media and the evidence people find when they research your business. Authority is part of that too, which simply means the visible proof that helps customers recognise your experience and trust what you're telling them.

I want somebody to leave with a clearer understanding of what deserves their attention, because commissioning an entirely new website is a fairly expensive way of discovering that the existing one mainly needed better wording. The consultation includes follow-up notes and practical next steps, so you can decide what to do without being obliged to purchase another service.

What if you already have a website but it needs work?

My Strategic Website Refresh is £180, approximately $240, and is designed for businesses that already have a website worth keeping but need clearer messaging and a stronger customer journey.

I rewrite the copy across up to five core pages, including Home, About, Services, FAQs and Contact, or their closest equivalent pages. I also provide recommendations for improving the structure of the website, the route customers take through it and how easily visitors can find the information they need before making an enquiry or buying.

Sometimes the problem is surprisingly ordinary. A homepage might explain the business in language that makes perfect sense to the owner but leaves a potential customer wondering what the service actually involves. Important information might be buried further down a page than it needs to be, or the website might spend a great deal of time discussing the business without clearly explaining what somebody should do next.

I look at those issues because small changes to the wording and organisation of information can make a website much easier to understand. The aim is to strengthen what is already there without automatically recommending a complete redesign, particularly when the business already has a functional website and an established visual identity.

For this service, we agree a dedicated project day in advance, with the completed copy refresh and recommendations delivered that same day. The £180 fee is paid upfront, and the package focuses on copywriting and strategic recommendations rather than hands-on website redesign or development.

What goes into my Wix Website Build?

My Wix Website Build is £650, approximately $860, and is designed for businesses that already have a clear offer and an existing way of generating sales, but need a professional website that represents them properly.

This might be an established consultant who already receives enquiries through referrals, a service provider whose current website no longer reflects the quality of their work or somebody moving to Wix because they want a platform they can manage more easily. These businesses may already be attracting customers through social media, networking, recommendations or other channels, so the website's main purpose is to support that existing interest.

I write all of the website copy and create a completely custom design in Wix Classic Editor. I don't use premade templates or generative AI to create the design or copy, because I want the finished website to reflect the individual business rather than look like something that could belong to almost anybody in the same industry.

The package includes five core pages covering Home, About, Services, FAQs and Contact, alongside general guidance for the website's policy pages. Each page needs to communicate something useful, from helping somebody understand what the business offers through to answering the practical questions they are likely to have before getting in touch.

I also think about how the information should be arranged visually, because somebody looking at a website on their phone needs to be able to recognise what matters without having to read absolutely everything. The colours, typography, images and written content all contribute to how professional and trustworthy the business feels, while the layout should make it straightforward for visitors to find the information they need.

The standard Wix Website Build works particularly well when the business already understands its customers and how it attracts work. It gives them a professional website that supports the sales process they already have, without commissioning additional content planning they may not currently need.

The project takes approximately six weeks and costs £650, divided into two equal payments of £325. Any applicable Wix subscription, domain registration or other third-party charges are separate, and clients retain control of their own accounts and payment arrangements.

What makes my Strategic Wix Website Build different?

My Strategic Wix Website Build is £945, approximately $1,250, and is designed for newer or growing businesses that need their website to help them become established, build credibility and develop opportunities to attract customers through Google.

The package includes everything in my standard Wix Website Build, including five custom pages, copywriting and a completely custom design, alongside a blog setup and a strategic SEO content plan. The additional planning includes a keyword bank, detailed blog-writing template and practical guidance on creating useful content that can attract relevant visitors and support sales.

That extra work matters because a newer business may not have an established audience or a large collection of referrals bringing people to its website. It needs to give potential customers reasons to discover the business, understand why its expertise is relevant and feel confident about considering its services.

I develop a content plan containing useful subjects the business can continue writing about, based on what its customers might want to understand, the questions they commonly have and the knowledge the business is in a position to share. That could involve explaining a specialist service, discussing a common customer problem or publishing an article that helps somebody compare their options before buying.

Alongside the content plan, I'll provide a keyword bank containing relevant search terms and phrases that can help guide article titles, headings and subject choices. The intention isn't to fill every paragraph with keywords, but to help the business understand the language potential customers are using when they look for information.

I also include a detailed blog-writing template and an explanation of how to approach SEO and sales-friendly content. This covers how to structure useful articles, answer relevant questions and connect the information to the services the business offers, without turning every blog into an advertisement.

I write the guidance in accessible language, because I know that most small business owners don't have the time or interest to become technical SEO specialists. The idea is that you can write your own articles or give the content plan, keyword bank and template to somebody helping with your marketing, such as a virtual assistant.

The custom blog setup gives those subjects somewhere to live on the website, so the owner can continue developing useful content after the initial build has finished. Ongoing article writing isn't automatically included, but you'll have a clear direction for what to publish, why those subjects matter and how they connect to your business.

The aim is to help the website become more useful over time, both for the people visiting it and for search systems trying to understand what the business does. It also means the business has a clearer idea of what to publish instead of launching a blog and then staring at an empty page wondering what on earth to write.

The Strategic Wix Website Build takes approximately eight weeks and costs £945, divided into three equal payments of £315. It's intended for businesses that would benefit from the additional content strategy, rather than those that simply need a professional website to support an existing sales pipeline.

Why do I think about the customer journey before designing?

A customer journey is the sequence of steps somebody takes when discovering, researching and eventually deciding whether to buy from a business. On a website, that might involve arriving on the homepage, exploring the services, reading some evidence of previous work and deciding whether to make an enquiry.

I think about that journey because a website can look lovely while making those steps unnecessarily difficult. Somebody might understand what the business sells but have no idea who the service is suitable for, what happens after they enquire or why they should choose it over another provider.

Those are things I want to consider when writing the copy and deciding how the pages should be structured. If people are likely to worry about whether the business has enough experience, useful evidence should be easy to find. If customers regularly misunderstand a particular service, the website needs to explain it properly before expecting somebody to book.

For newer businesses, content also contributes to that journey. Somebody may discover the business through an article, read more about the service and return weeks later when they are ready to make a decision. That's one reason I include the blog and strategic content plan within my Strategic Wix Website Build, because the content needs to do more than attract visitors who leave immediately afterwards.

I want the website to make the next step clear wherever somebody happens to arrive, because customers don't always begin neatly at the top of the homepage and read every page in the order the designer intended. Someone arriving directly on a blog article should still be able to understand who's providing the advice and find their way towards the relevant services.

Do I write the website copy too?

Yes, I write the website copy as part of both my Wix Website Build and Strategic Wix Website Build, because the words and design need to work together. I'm thinking about what somebody needs to know on each page, when they need that information and what might be missing if they reach the bottom without feeling ready to take the next step. That can mean explaining a service more clearly, bringing useful proof higher up the page or rewriting language that sounds professional but doesn't actually tell the customer very much.

I want somebody outside your industry to be able to understand what you sell, because your website needs to communicate with potential customers rather than people who already know all of your professional terminology. That doesn't mean stripping away all the detail, but making sure the information is presented in a way that helps people understand whether your business is appropriate for their needs.

Good website copy also needs to sound like the actual business. An experienced accountant probably shouldn't sound identical to a wedding content creator, while two consultants working in the same industry might have completely different personalities and approaches that deserve to come through in how they communicate.

I take that into consideration when writing because the finished website should feel appropriate for the business and the people it wants to attract, while still being straightforward enough for somebody unfamiliar with the service to understand.

What do SEO and GEO have to do with the build?

SEO means search engine optimisation, which involves helping search engines such as Google understand your website and making its content more relevant to the searches people perform. GEO means generative engine optimisation, a term used to describe approaches intended to help information be understood and considered within AI-powered search and answer experiences.

Both are relevant to website content because the information a business publishes helps explain what it does, who it serves and what it knows. Clear service descriptions are useful to actual customers, while detailed articles can answer more specific questions that somebody might search for before deciding whether to buy.

My standard Wix Website Build provides a custom website with clear copy, useful page structures and access to Wix's built-in search settings, but the dedicated blogging and SEO content strategy belongs to my Strategic Wix Website Build.

The strategic package includes a content plan, keyword bank and detailed writing template to help businesses create useful articles after launch. These resources are designed to explain how to develop content around relevant search questions, demonstrate expertise and help readers understand what the business offers.

For example, somebody running a specialist HR consultancy might publish an article explaining when a business needs workplace mediation, while a wellness practitioner might explain what to expect during a particular treatment. Both give potential customers useful information while helping the website develop a body of content around the services it offers.

I'll also explain how to consider the wider customer journey when developing content, because attracting visitors is only one part of what a website needs to achieve. If somebody discovers your business through an article and wants to learn more about a relevant service, the information should help them understand what to do next.

Publishing content doesn't guarantee Google rankings, increased traffic or appearances in AI-generated answers, but useful, well-organised content can create opportunities for people to discover your expertise. That's why I prefer thinking about the subjects a business could become known for early in the website process, rather than treating the blog as something somebody might eventually get around to using.

Why is authority important on a business website?

Authority means giving people credible reasons to believe you know what you're doing, and I think this deserves much more attention during website projects because somebody considering spending hundreds or thousands of pounds usually wants evidence before making that decision.

The useful evidence will depend on the business. It might come from client results, professional experience, testimonials, awards, press coverage or detailed content that demonstrates specialist knowledge. A newer business may have less formal recognition, but it can still explain the founder's experience, demonstrate how its services work and answer questions that customers need resolved before buying.

I look at what evidence is already available and how it can be communicated clearly, because a business may have plenty of reasons for customers to trust it without actually making those reasons visible on its website.

I also prefer important recognition to appear as readable text rather than relying entirely on visual badges. If you've won something, write what you won, and if you've appeared in a publication, name the publication. Somebody scanning the page should be able to understand why that recognition matters without needing to inspect a tiny image or recognise an unfamiliar organisation.

The Wix Partner Creator badge itself is a good example because I can display the badge visually on my website while also explaining that I've received recognition through the Wix Partner Programme. That gives somebody who has never seen the badge before useful context rather than expecting the image to explain itself.

What happens after I hand the website over?

One of the main reasons I continue using Wix Classic Editor is that clients can manage their websites themselves after launch. I want business owners to feel comfortable making ordinary updates as their services, information and marketing develop.

If somebody needs to update their opening hours, change an image, adjust a paragraph or add another article to their blog, they should be able to do that without needing a developer every time. That flexibility is particularly useful for small businesses because their offers and priorities can change as they grow, and a website should be something the owner can continue using and improving rather than a finished object they're afraid to touch.

I also make sure clients retain control of their website accounts, domain arrangements and applicable subscription payments, because I don't think those things should depend on continuing to work with me. I can provide guidance on setting them up, but clients are responsible for connecting their own domains and paying for the relevant third-party services.

I can also discuss additional website changes when clients would prefer support with future updates, but I want them to have the option of managing the everyday things themselves. For me, that's one of the biggest practical advantages of creating a custom website through Wix.

Which of my website services is actually right for you?

The right service depends on what stage your business is at and what is already working, which is why I have several options rather than treating a complete website build as the answer to every problem.

If you're unsure what needs attention, my Visibility Consultation is £60 for one hour, approximately $80. We can look at your website alongside your branding, social media and wider visibility to identify where improvements may be needed, and you'll receive follow-up notes with practical next steps.

If you already have a website worth keeping but want clearer messaging and recommendations for improving the customer journey, my Strategic Website Refresh is £180, approximately $240. It includes rewritten copy across up to five core pages and recommendations for improving the structure and user experience, with the completed refresh delivered on an agreed project day.

If you have an established way of attracting customers and need a professional website, my Wix Website Build is £650, approximately $860. It includes custom design and copywriting across five core pages, takes six weeks and is split into two payments of £325.

For newer or growing businesses that need to build credibility and develop opportunities to attract traffic through search, my Strategic Wix Website Build is £945, approximately $1,250. It includes the five custom pages and copywriting, alongside a blog setup, SEO content plan, keyword bank and detailed blog-writing template. The project takes eight weeks and is split into three payments of £315.

You can also get in touch if your project requires something more tailored than the listed packages, particularly if you need additional pages, different functionality or more extensive support with your website and marketing.

So what does becoming a Wix Partner Creator actually change?

Becoming a Wix Partner Creator gives me another piece of independent recognition for the platform I've already been using with clients for years, and I'm very happy to have the badge sitting alongside the wider experience behind my website work.

It doesn't really change what I think makes a website useful, because I still care far more about whether the customer understands the business, trusts what they're seeing and knows what to do next. Wix gives me a practical way to create those websites while keeping the editing process accessible for the people who own them.

I'm interested in the decisions that happen before somebody sees the finished homepage, including what the website needs to communicate, how the information should be organised and how its content can help customers understand the business.

The Wix Partner Creator badge gives clients some additional reassurance that I have experience using the platform I'm recommending to them, but I think the strategic thinking behind the website is just as important as the platform itself.

FAQs

What is a Wix Partner Creator? I received a Creator badge through the Wix Partner Programme after working with Wix for client websites for several years. I display that recognition alongside my website services because it gives clients another piece of evidence around my experience with the platform.

What is strategic Wix website design? Strategic Wix website design means considering what customers need to understand and how they're likely to use the website before deciding how to organise its content. My Strategic Wix Website Build includes custom design and copywriting across five core pages, alongside a blog setup, SEO content plan, keyword bank and detailed writing template to help businesses develop their visibility after launch.

How much does a Wix website cost with Hi This Is Bry? My Wix Website Build is £650, approximately $860, while my Strategic Wix Website Build is £945, approximately $1,250. I also offer a £180 Strategic Website Refresh and £60 Visibility Consultation for businesses that need support without commissioning a completely new website.

What's the difference between the £650 and £945 Wix website packages? The £650 build is designed for businesses that already have an existing sales pipeline and need a professional website to support it. The £945 package includes the same five-page custom website, plus a blog setup, SEO content plan, keyword bank and detailed writing guidance to help businesses develop relevant search traffic and authority over time.

Can you improve my current website instead of rebuilding it? Yes, my Strategic Website Refresh is designed for existing websites that need clearer messaging and a stronger customer journey. I rewrite the copy across up to five core pages and provide recommendations for improving the structure and making the site easier for visitors to understand and use.

Do you write the website copy? Yes, I write all of the copy for both website build packages. I consider what potential customers need to understand on each page and how the wording supports the design, so the finished website communicates the business clearly rather than relying on the client to provide completed website copy.

Does the Strategic Wix Website Build include a complete SEO service? It includes a strategic content plan, keyword bank, blog setup and detailed guidance on writing search-friendly articles that can support enquiries and sales. It doesn't include ongoing SEO management, a separate comprehensive technical SEO audit or guaranteed search rankings.

Can I write the blog articles myself? Yes, the strategy is intended to make that possible. I'll provide useful subjects, a keyword bank and a detailed blog-writing template in accessible language, so you can create content yourself or give the guidance to somebody such as a virtual assistant.

Do you use premade website templates or generative AI? No, I create custom website designs using Wix Classic Editor and write the copy for the agreed pages. I don't use premade website design templates or generative AI to produce the design or written content.

Can you update my website after it launches? I can discuss additional website updates if you'd prefer help making changes after launch. You can also manage your Wix website yourself, including changing ordinary text, replacing images and publishing new blog content without needing me to make every update.

Why becoming a Wix Partner Creator felt worth talking about

I've used Wix for years because it gives me the combination I want for the small businesses I work with. I can create something completely custom, write the content around what the business actually needs to communicate and hand over a website the client can continue managing without needing to become particularly technical.

Becoming a Wix Partner Creator gives that experience some formal recognition from the platform itself, which is lovely, but I think the more useful thing I can do with the badge is explain what clients actually get when they hire me to work on their website. Depending on where the business is starting, that might mean an hour of visibility advice, a focused refresh of the existing website or a completely custom Wix build with additional content planning.

If you want to work out what your own website needs before choosing one of those services, my free Business Visibility Playbook helps you review your website alongside your branding, social media and wider authority so you can see where the gaps are first.
