What's included in a £180 strategic social media refresh for small businesses? (Approx. $240).
Hi, I’m Bry, founder of Hi This Is Bry. I’m a multi award winning Creative Strategist and Brand Consultant helping people build award worthy brands and make them visible. I write about branding, marketing, visibility and consumer behaviour, breaking down why recognisable brands succeed, why people buy and what you can apply to what you’re building.
If you're running a small business, you've probably heard plenty of advice about how often you should post, which platforms you should use and what you need to do to grow your following. There's always somebody telling you to create more Reels, try a different format or jump on the latest trend, but considerably less conversation about whether any of that activity is actually helping your business attract customers.
I've spoken to business owners who spend hours creating content every week but still aren't getting many enquiries, despite following the advice they've been given. Others have developed an audience that regularly likes and comments on their posts, but those interactions rarely turn into sales. The difficulty is that posting on social media isn't the same as selling, and reaching more people doesn't automatically mean you're reaching the people who are likely to become customers.
That's why I offer my £180 Strategic Social Media Refresh, a focused review of your existing social media presence, account analytics and content performance. I'll identify what's working, what might be limiting your growth or enquiries and where your efforts could be better spent, before providing clear strategic recommendations and two practical branded templates. The refresh is delivered within one week and is designed to give you a better understanding of your current position without committing to a longer-term marketing programme.

What is a Strategic Social Media Refresh?
A Strategic Social Media Refresh is a professional review of how your business is currently using social media, with recommendations for improving your content, positioning and opportunities to attract customers. Rather than immediately suggesting you need to start posting every day or completely change your content, I'll look at what you're already doing and consider whether it's actually supporting your business goals.
That means reviewing your profile, the way you communicate your services, the types of content you're publishing and the information available through your account analytics. I also want to understand what you're hoping to achieve, because a business using Instagram to attract local customers might need a different approach from somebody using LinkedIn to develop professional relationships or demonstrate expertise within a specialist industry.
The aim is to make your social media activity more purposeful, so you're not spending hours creating content without understanding what it's supposed to achieve.
Do you need thousands of followers to get customers through social media?
Absolutely not, and I think this is one of the biggest misconceptions surrounding social media marketing. There's so much emphasis on follower counts, viral posts and reaching enormous audiences that it's easy to assume your business isn't doing particularly well unless your numbers are constantly increasing.
But a large following doesn't necessarily mean you have a commercially successful business, just as a smaller following doesn't automatically mean your marketing is failing.
I have around 6,000 followers across my social media platforms, and I still generate enough leads to keep myself busy. I'm not reaching hundreds of thousands of people every day, but the people who do discover my work can understand what I offer, see examples of my experience and decide whether they'd like to work with me. That's considerably more important to my business than collecting followers who have no interest in purchasing my services.
Of course, growing an audience can be useful, particularly when you're trying to increase awareness or introduce your business to new people. But follower growth needs to be considered alongside the quality of the audience and whether your content is helping people move closer to making an enquiry.
For example, a Reel that attracts thousands of views from people who will never purchase your services might be less commercially useful than a post that reaches a smaller group of potential customers and encourages somebody to visit your website. I want small business owners to understand the difference between becoming more visible and developing a social media presence that actually supports their business.
Who is the Strategic Social Media Refresh for?
This package is designed for small businesses and solopreneurs that already have a social media presence but aren't particularly sure whether their current approach is working. You might be posting regularly without seeing much growth, attracting plenty of engagement but very few enquiries, or feeling increasingly confused about which types of content deserve your attention.
It's also useful if your business has developed since you originally set up your accounts. Perhaps you've introduced new services, changed your prices or started targeting a different audience, but your social media profiles still communicate an older version of your business.
Sometimes the problem is that you've been following advice intended for content creators or influencers, rather than considering what makes sense for somebody whose main goal is selling products or services. A business doesn't necessarily need to maximise views or grow as quickly as possible to be successful. It needs to attract relevant people, communicate what it offers and make it easier for interested customers to take the next step.
If you're feeling stuck or aren't sure where to concentrate your efforts, a professional review can help you understand what might be worth changing before investing more time in content creation.
What's included in my £180 Strategic Social Media Refresh?
The package includes a detailed review of your existing social media presence and available account analytics, followed by tailored strategic recommendations and two branded marketing templates.
A review of your current social media presence
I'll begin by looking at how your business presents itself across the relevant platforms, considering whether somebody discovering your account can quickly understand who you help, what you offer and why they might want to work with you. That includes reviewing your profile information, messaging, visual presentation and the kinds of content you're currently publishing.
For example, somebody might have a beautifully designed Instagram grid but very little information explaining their services, while another business might share useful educational posts without ever making it clear that customers can actually hire them.
I'll also consider whether your content reflects the audience you're hoping to attract, because it's possible to build engagement around subjects that aren't particularly relevant to the people most likely to purchase from your business. Your visual presentation matters too, although that doesn't mean everything needs to look identical or follow a particular aesthetic.
I'll consider whether the branding feels consistent and recognisable, and whether the design supports the information you're trying to communicate. Ultimately, I want to understand what somebody experiences when they discover your business through social media, rather than simply judging whether the account looks attractive.
Reviewing your account analytics
Your social media analytics can provide useful information about how people are responding to your content, particularly when we consider the numbers alongside what you're actually trying to achieve.
Depending on the platform and the data available, I'll look at relevant measures such as reach, engagement, profile activity, audience growth and website clicks. I may also consider which content formats and subjects appear to be performing more effectively, looking for patterns that could help inform your future approach.
However, I don't think it's particularly useful to judge every post purely by how many views or likes it receives. For example, a piece of content might attract relatively little engagement but still encourage somebody to visit your website or make an enquiry. Another post might generate thousands of views because the subject is widely relatable, without necessarily attracting anybody interested in purchasing your services.
The important question is whether the activity is helping your business achieve something useful, not whether every individual post has impressive numbers. I'll use the available analytics alongside your business goals to identify what seems to be working, where there may be limitations and which areas deserve closer attention.
Identifying what's limiting your growth or enquiries
Once I've reviewed your content and analytics, I'll look for potential problems that could be affecting how your social media performs.
For some businesses, that might be unclear positioning or messaging that makes it difficult for potential customers to understand what they're offering. Others might be attracting an audience that enjoys their content but isn't particularly interested in their services, while some businesses may be concentrating heavily on generating engagement without providing enough information to help people make a purchasing decision.
There can also be issues with the content itself, particularly when a business relies on the same type of post repeatedly without considering whether it's demonstrating expertise, building credibility or introducing the services available.
Sometimes the problem isn't the social media content at all, but what happens after somebody becomes interested. If your profile sends people to a confusing website or doesn't provide a clear way to enquire, interested visitors may struggle to take the next step.
I don't want to make assumptions about what's holding your business back before reviewing the evidence, because every account has different circumstances and goals. The purpose of the refresh is to identify the areas that are most relevant to your situation, rather than giving you a generic list of things every business supposedly needs to do.
Strategic recommendations for what to focus on next
Once I've completed the review, I'll provide clear recommendations based on what I've found. That might involve improving how your services are presented, developing more content around your expertise, reconsidering the audience you're attracting or creating stronger connections between your content and the products or services you're trying to sell.
I'll also consider whether there are opportunities to make better use of the content you're already creating, particularly if certain subjects or formats appear to be encouraging the right kinds of interaction.
For example, if people regularly respond to posts about a particular customer problem, that might suggest an opportunity to develop a more useful content series around the subject. Alternatively, if your audience seems interested in your expertise but doesn't understand how to work with you, it might be worth introducing clearer explanations of your services, process or customer experiences.
I want the recommendations to be practical and relevant to your business, rather than simply telling you to create more content because the platform rewards consistency. The goal is to help you understand what deserves attention and why, so you can make more informed decisions about how to spend your time.
Two practical branded templates
The package also includes two branded marketing templates to help you start putting the recommendations into practice. I'll consider what would be most useful for your business based on the review, and we can discuss the appropriate direction for the templates.
For example, you might benefit from a clearer way to present educational content, introduce your services or share information that demonstrates your expertise. The designs will reflect your existing brand identity, helping you create content that feels professional and recognisable without needing to start from scratch every time.
I think practical assets are particularly useful alongside strategic recommendations, because they give you something tangible to begin working with once the review has been completed. These are two agreed templates rather than an ongoing content creation service, so you can continue using them as part of your own marketing.
Why isn't my social media getting me customers?
There are several reasons social media activity might not be translating into enquiries, and they aren't always obvious when you're concentrating on creating the content itself.
One possibility is that you're attracting attention without giving people much reason to purchase from you. A business might share entertaining or relatable posts that generate plenty of engagement, but rarely explain its expertise, services or the problems it can solve.
Another possibility is that the content demonstrates your knowledge but doesn't clearly connect that information to the work you actually offer. For example, a consultant might regularly share useful industry advice, attracting people who enjoy learning from their posts, but never explain what their consultancy involves or how somebody can work with them.
It's also possible that your content is reaching the wrong audience, particularly if you've developed your account around subjects that attract general interest rather than potential customers. And sometimes there are problems further along the customer journey, such as unclear service information, confusing enquiry processes or a website that doesn't answer the questions people have before purchasing.
This is why I think it's important to consider social media as part of your wider marketing rather than treating it as something completely separate. Getting somebody's attention is useful, but helping them understand your value and take action is what connects that attention to your business.
Should small businesses focus on followers, engagement or sales?
I think the answer depends on what you're trying to achieve, because these things can all play a role in marketing, but they don't necessarily tell you the same thing.
Follower growth can indicate that more people are interested in hearing from you, while reach and engagement can help you understand how your content is being distributed and received. However, somebody following your account or liking a post doesn't automatically mean they're considering purchasing from you.
If your primary objective is generating enquiries or sales, you also need to think about whether your content is attracting relevant people, communicating your expertise and giving them opportunities to explore your services.
That doesn't mean every post needs to be promotional, because content that builds familiarity and trust can be important long before somebody is ready to purchase. For example, somebody might discover your business through an educational post, begin following you because they find your expertise useful and only enquire several weeks or months later when they need the service you provide.
It's not always possible to attribute every enquiry to a particular post, but you can still look at the wider picture and consider whether your marketing is helping you build the right kinds of relationships.
For my own business, I care about whether I'm attracting people who understand what I do and genuinely want to work with me. Having enough relevant leads to keep my business busy is considerably more meaningful than chasing a particular follower count simply because it looks impressive.
Do you need to post every day to grow your business?
Not necessarily, and I think this is something worth discussing because a lot of small business owners feel enormous pressure to create content constantly.
There are certainly circumstances where publishing frequently can be useful, particularly if you're testing different content formats or trying to increase awareness of a new business. But frequency isn't the only thing that matters, and posting every day won't automatically solve unclear messaging, an unsuitable audience or a lack of connection between your content and services.
I'd much rather a business owner have a manageable content approach that supports their goals than spend hours every week creating posts without understanding why they're making them.
During the refresh, I'll consider what your current content is achieving and where adjustments could make your efforts more purposeful. Sometimes that might mean developing a stronger content series or changing the way you introduce your services, while other times it might involve focusing more carefully on a smaller number of useful subjects.
The recommendations will depend on your business and the evidence available, rather than a universal posting schedule.
What happens during the Strategic Social Media Refresh process?
The process begins with reviewing your existing social media presence and understanding what you'd like to improve. I'll need to consider the relevant accounts, your current content, available analytics and the goals you want your social media activity to support.
I'll then carry out the review, identify areas that may be limiting performance and develop strategic recommendations based on what I find. The package also includes two practical branded templates, selected to support the improvements we're discussing.
The completed refresh is delivered within one week, giving you a focused assessment and useful materials without a lengthy project timeline. The service costs £180, approximately $240, and is paid upfront.
This is a standalone review and refresh rather than a social media management service, so it doesn't include ongoing posting, account management or an extended content strategy programme.
What's the difference between a Social Media Refresh and a complete social media strategy?
My Strategic Social Media Refresh (£180) is designed for businesses that already have a social media presence and want to understand what's working, what's holding them back and what they should focus on next. It includes the account review, analysis of available performance data, strategic recommendations and two branded templates, with everything delivered within one week.
My Social Media Strategy and Support package (£450) is a more comprehensive service for businesses that need ongoing strategic direction around their audience, positioning, content, growth and sales. That package includes tailored content planning, branded marketing materials, introductory or storytelling carousels and three monthly strategy consultations, giving us more opportunity to develop the approach and discuss how it's working over time.
The main difference is whether you need a focused professional assessment of what you're already doing or a more extensive plan with continued strategic support.
I don't think every business needs the most comprehensive package, particularly when a few well-informed changes could help them make better use of the content they're already producing.
