Accessible Print Design for an Autism Support Charity

Client: SAFE Essex (via iae Marketing)

Partners: iae Marketing

Focus: Rollfold Leaflet and Roller Banner Design

Safe Essex is a charity supporting autistic individuals and their families across Essex. The organisation needed clear, engaging print materials to help raise awareness of their services and connect with their community in a friendly and accessible way.

The brief was to create a fold-out leaflet and accompanying roller banner that communicated key information while remaining warm, inclusive and easy to understand.

My Role

I was responsible for designing a rollfold leaflet outlining Safe Essex’s services, support and values, along with a roller banner for use at events, conferences and outreach activities.

The designs focused on clarity and warmth, using colour blocking, accessible fonts and image-led layouts to reflect the charity’s welcoming approach. My goal was to ensure the materials felt easy to engage with and could reach a broad audience without feeling overwhelming.

The outcome

The finished materials gave Safe Essex a confident and approachable presence across both print and in-person settings. The rollfold leaflet provided clear, structured information about their services, while the roller banner offered instant visibility at events, creating a warm and welcoming first impression.

Both pieces worked together to communicate the charity’s purpose with clarity and care, helping support group attendees, families and community partners quickly understand their mission, values and available support.

Clear, accessible design is especially important for organisations supporting neurodivergent communities. For Safe Essex, having thoughtful, easy-to-understand print materials meant more people could connect with their message.
